Baseball Game Preview: Tug Valley Panthers vs. WestSide Renegades

The Tug Valley Panthers will venture away from home to square off against the WestSide Renegades at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Tug Valley is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.

On Friday, Tug Valley came up short against Sherman and fell 5-1.

Gavin Fitzpatrick was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. Tug Valley is 4-1 when Fitzpatrick posts two or more stolen bases, but 5-12 otherwise.

Meanwhile, WestSide lost 12-1 to Scott on Friday. The defeat continues a trend for the Renegades in their meetings with the Skyhawks: they've now lost six in a row.

WestSide saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Isaiah Clay, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

WestSide's loss dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Tug Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-13.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Saturday as neither team is afraid to steal. Tug Valley has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like WestSide struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Tug Valley took their victory against WestSide in their previous meeting last Wednesday by a conclusive 8-0 score. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Renegades have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
