Recap: Northwest Halifax Vikings vs. Southeast Halifax Trojans
The Northwest Halifax Vikings put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They breezed by Southeast Halifax at home to the tune of 60-18. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 39-8.
Northwest Halifax's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Camaya Adkins, who scored 21 points. That makes it five consecutive games in which Adkins has scored at least 25% of Northwest Halifax's points. Keyara Rook was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Despite the loss, Southeast Halifax saw an underclassman step up: Janiyla Pierce scored 8 points along with 6 steals. Pierce continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.
Northwest Halifax has yet to lose a contest at home this season, leaving them with a 5-0 record. As for Southeast Halifax, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Northwest Halifax will take on Northampton County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams have allowed few points on average, (Northampton County: 26, Northwest Halifax: 28) so any points scored will be well earned. As for Southeast Halifax, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against KIPP P at 6:00 p.m.
