Baseball Recap: Pearsall Comes Up Short

Pearsall was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a 13-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Carrizo Springs Wildcats. The Mavericks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Pearsall saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ethan Vela, who scored a run and stole three bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases Vela has posted since back in February. Samuel Navarro was another, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Pearsall's loss dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Carrizo Springs, they pushed their record up to 12-2 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Pearsall will venture away from home to face off against Pleasanton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Pleasanton will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something Pearsall surely won't give up without a fight. As for Carrizo Springs, they will welcome Floresville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
