Basketball Recap: Heath Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Heath extended their winning streak to four on Saturday, bumping them up to 6-1. They came out on top against the Highland Fighting Scots by a score of 47-34. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Bulldogs' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 225th, while the Fighting Scots are ranked 509th).

Jordan Kaminsky had another great game (as he tends to do), dropping a double-double with 20 points and 12 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Heath's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Carter Mason, who posted eight points in addition to six boards and three steals.

As for Highland, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.6 points over those games.

Highland's loss came despite strong showings from Owen X. Winkelfoos and Mason Hughes. Winkelfoos earned 11 points, while Hughes had nine points and six rebounds.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Heath will challenge Licking Valley at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Highland, they will face off against Crestview at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Fighting Scots will need to watch out since the Cougars have now posted at least 55 points in their last four matchups.
