            Basketball Preview: Lejeune Devil Pups vs. South Lenoir Blue Devils        
        
		
        
        
            Having just played yesterday, the Lejeune Devil Pups will head out on the road to face off against the South Lenoir Blue Devils  at 5:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. Both  have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Lejeune and nine for South Lenoir dating back to last season.
Lejeune saw some tournament action  on Tuesday. They were  outmatched by Neuse Charter and fell  69-17. While losing is never fun, the Devil Pups can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage  in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings  (they are ranked 471st, while the Cougars are ranked 105th).
Meanwhile,  South Lenoir played a tough  matchup  on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt  a  64-29 defeat at the hands of West Carteret. The Blue Devils were down  49-19 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.
 Lejeune will have to keep a close watch on  Tyazhia Midgett and  Makenzie Herring, a pair of players who had a big impact on South Lenoir's prior game. Midgett  posted  no points along with seven  rebounds and six  assists, while  Herring  went 7 of 17  en route to 15 points. Those 15  points gave  Herring a new career-high.
 South Lenoir's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Lejeune, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-6.
