Baseball Recap: Colony Comes Up Short in High-Profile Matchup with Service

Colony faced Service in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Knights fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 3-2. The loss continues a trend for the Knights in their meetings with the Cougars: they've now lost three in a row.

Colony saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hayden Sherman, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double. That double was Sherman's first of the season.

Colony's defeat dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Service, their victory was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-1.

The Warriors will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Knights surely won't give up without a fight. As for Service, they will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Chugiak at 4:00 p.m. The Cougars' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Mustangs have averaged an impressive 6.6 runs per game this season.
