Baseball Recap: Taylor Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Taylor, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They skirted past the Mainland Buccaneers 5-4. This was a revenge game for the Wildcats: when they faced off against the Buccaneers back in February, they had to take a 9-8 loss.

Taylor's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Drew Moyer, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3. Moyer has become a key player for the Wildcats: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 5-6 otherwise. Another was Alex Ramos, who scored a run while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

Taylor has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Mainland, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-7.

Looking ahead, Taylor will square off against Lake Mary Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mainland, they will face off against University at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
