Basketball Recap: Brookhaven Academy Takes a Loss

Brookhaven Academy lost against Oak Forest Academy back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Brookhaven Academy Cougars had to suffer through a 62-35 loss at the hands of the Oak Forest Academy Yellowjackets. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 161st in Mississippi, while the Yellowjackets are ranked 12th in Louisiana).

Brookhaven Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Oak Forest Academy, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-2.

Brookhaven Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Bowling Green at 7:15 p.m. on January 14th. As for Oak Forest Academy, they and Jackson Prep will face off at 2:15 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played.
