Football Recap: Reading Takes a Loss

Friday just wasn't the day for Reading's offense. They were outmatched by the Manheim Township Blue Streaks and fell 63-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Red KNights in their meetings with the Blue Streaks: they've now lost four in a row.

Jack Kenneff continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Manheim Township, rushing for 39 yards and two TDs, while also throwing for 116 yards and one touchdown on perfect 6-for-6 passing. What's more, Kenneff racked up 177.1 passer rating, the most he's had since back in October of 2024. Daryus Dixon was another key player, picking up 88 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Reading's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Manheim Township, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-1.

Coming up, Reading will be playing in front of their home fans against Oxford at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Manheim Township, they will face off against Penn Manor at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Blue Streaks will be up against the Comets' rather soft defense (which has allowed 28.13 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
