Basketball Recap: Edgewood's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Edgewood had won three straight games and Janae Mcfall did her part to make it four on Tuesday. The Edgewood Red Wolves took their match with ease, bagging a 64-34 win over the Merritt Island Christian Cougars thanks in part to Mcfall, who shot 6-for-11 from downtown and almost dropped a double-double on 32 points and nine steals. Her evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

Another player making a difference was Ada Howarter, who went 7 of 14 en route to 15 points along with eight boards and five assists. She has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times she's played.

Merritt Island Christian's loss came despite strong showings from Summer Snaith and Julia Rhodes. Snaith almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine boards, while Rhodes almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten boards.

Edgewood's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Merritt Island Christian, they now have a losing record at 2-3.

Edgewood didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 65-29 win against West Shore on the 11th. As for Merritt Island Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lincoln Park Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Lincoln Park Academy's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
