Softball Recap: Mercy Comes Up Short

Mercy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell 6-1 to the Notre Dame Regents. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Regents this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-0 back in March.

Mercy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Vikki Saenz, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Mercy's defeat dropped their record down to 9-12. As for Notre Dame, their win bumped their record up to 13-8.

Coming up, Mercy will challenge El Camino at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Notre Dame, they will be playing at home against Ann Sobrato at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Regents' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 7.1 runs per game this season.
