Basketball Game Preview: Sheridan Blackhawks vs. North White Vikings

The Sheridan Blackhawks will take on the North White Vikings in a tournament on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Sheridan has five straight wins, North White has ten straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Last Saturday, Sheridan beat Frankfort 53-43. Given the Blackhawks' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 112th, while the Hot Dogs are ranked 365th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

It was another big night for Caleb Wright, who went 9 of 19 on his way to 22 points. The game was his third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Chance Spencer, who posted eight points and six rebounds.

Sheridan smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in four consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, North White played a tough contest on Saturday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by Twin Lakes and fell 68-18. The Vikings were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-10.

Sheridan pushed their record up to 6-1 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.3 points per game. As for North White, their loss dropped their record down to 0-7.
