After a string of six wins, Valders's good fortune finally ran out  on Saturday. They fell just short of the Shawano Community Hawks by a score of  2-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Vikings of the  2-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture  back in September of 2024.
Their offense was headlined by  Megan Hochkammer and  Anna Olson, who picked up eight kills apiece. They got some help from  Addison Grall and her 12 assists.
 Leading Shawano Community to victory were  Jacey Cowden and  Gabby Passehl.  Cowden  had seven  digs and three  aces, while  Passehl  had five  digs and one  assist. Those  three  aces gave  Cowden a new career-high.
Valders' loss dropped their record down to 15-6. As for Shawano Community, their win bumped their record up to 9-15.
 Valders didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next  contest,  a  2-1  defeat against Southern Door on the 20th. As for Shawano Community, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next  match,  a  2-1  loss against Wabeno/Laona on the 20th.
