Cheyenne Mountain won the last time they faced Canon City and things went their way on Saturday too. The Red-Tailed Hawks had just enough and edged out the Tigers 2-1. Those two runs were actually the fewest the Red-Tailed Hawks have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Javin Eslinger spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Cheyenne Mountain's victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Charlie Scofield, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Cheyenne Mountain has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4-1 record this season. As for Canon City, they moved to 10-7 with that defeat, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Cheyenne Mountain didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 13-5 win against Lutheran on the 29th. As for Canon City, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 12-0 victory against Harrison on the 29th.
