Basketball Game Preview: Tri-State Christian Huskies vs. Faith Christian Falcons

Tri-State Christian is 0-10 against Faith Christian since January of 2017 but things could change on Friday. The Tri-State Christian Huskies will head out on the road to challenge the Faith Christian Falcons at 6:30 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Tuesday, Tri-State Christian beat East Moline Christian 43-35.

Meanwhile, Faith Christian strolled past Rockford FIRE HomeSchool with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 72-54. Given the Falcons' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 166th, while the FIRE are ranked 462nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Tri-State Christian better focus on containing Carson Bivins and Isaiah Schuler as the pair were huge in Faith Christian's win. Bivins shot 6-for-9 from downtown and almost dropped a double-double on 28 points and nine boards, while Schuler went 12 of 18 on his way to 25 points and four steals. The match was Bivins' fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Fassler, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 10 points.

Faith Christian was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Faith Christian pushed their record up to 13-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. As for Tri-State Christian, their win bumped their record up to 3-4.

Tri-State Christian took a serious blow against Faith Christian in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, falling 58-23. Can Tri-State Christian avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
