Baseball Recap: Thousand Oaks' Luck Changes for the Better on Saturday

Thousand Oaks's found some homefield redemption this week after a overtime loss to Westlake on Saturday. The Lancers had just enough and edged out the Fillmore Flashes 7-6. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Lancers as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Caden Pennington looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Matthew Magruder, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Dane Holt, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Thousand Oaks now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Fillmore, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last ten games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season.

Thousand Oaks will welcome Newbury Park at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Fillmore, they will head out on the road to challenge Camarillo at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
