Basketball Recap: Heritage Christian Athletics Takes a Loss

On Tuesday, the Heritage Christian Athletics Falcons came up short against the Westlake Academy Blacksmiths and fell 45-35.

Maya Sonday was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 24 points and 13 rebounds for Westlake Academy. That makes it eight consecutive games in which Sonday has scored at least a third of Westlake Academy's points. Mason Wack was another key player, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 17 rebounds.

Heritage Christian Athletics' loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Westlake Academy, their victory ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-4.

Heritage Christian Athletics wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 40-23 win against Joshua Christian on the 5th. As for Westlake Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 45-35 victory against Weatherford Christian on the 5th.
