            Baseball Recap: Merit Preparatory Academy Knights vs. Intermountain Christian Lions        
        
		
        
        
            Merit Preparatory Academy had lost eight straight on the road dating back to last season, but  on Friday they dropped down to 0-4 to make it nine. They lost  12-1 to the Intermountain Christian Lions. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup  21-0  on Tuesday.
As for Intermountain Christian, the  win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 5-1. Considering they have won four matchups by more than nine  runs this season, Friday's  blowout was nothing new.
 For Intermountain Christian's part,  Coy White was a  major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he  struck out six batters over  three innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. White has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't  tossed less than six  strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box,  going 2-for-3 with two  runs, one  triple,  and one  stolen base. That  triple was  his first of the season.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Merit Preparatory Academy will take on Utah Military Academy - Hill Field at 4:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. The Knights' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Thunderbirds have averaged an impressive 20.5  runs per game this season. As for Intermountain Christian, they will challenge Wendover at 4:00  p.m.  on Monday.
