Football Recap: East Wake Takes a Loss + How To Watch

If East Wake was feeling good fresh off their 42-6 takedown of Riverside-Durham last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Warriors fell 20-14 to the Rocky Mount Gryphons on Thursday. Despite 57 more yards than the Gryphons, the Warriors couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

Maurice Maloy threw for 222 yards and two touchdowns. Kameren Vaughn-Joyner was his top target, picking up 36 receiving yards and one score.

East Wake's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Rocky Mount, the victory also got them back to even at 1-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. East Wake will challenge Southeast Raleigh at 7:00 p.m. on September 5. As for Rocky Mount, they are headed away from home for the first time to take on Nash Central at 7:00 p.m. on September 5.
