The College Park Falcons will head out on the road to take on the Cardinal Newman Cardinals at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (College Park 2.6, Cardinal Newman 2.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.
College Park gave up the first runs on Tuesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 victory over Vacaville.

Sebastian Alvarez tossed a big game, tossing 5.2 innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.
At the plate, Connor Berkowitz was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He also brought in an RBI, marking his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Samuel Johnston, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, Cardinal Newman got themselves on the board against Valley Christian on Saturday, but Valley Christian never followed suit. They skirted past the Warriors 1-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cardinals.
The result came thanks to Josh Jannicelli's shutout, as he gave up just two hits and racked up ten Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, Cardinal Newman saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chase Bromstad, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.
College Park's record now sits at 2-3. As for Cardinal Newman, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
College Park couldn't quite get it done against Cardinal Newman in their previous matchup back in March of 2024 as they fell 6-2. Can College Park avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
