Cibola had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.3 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Tuesday. They took down the Valley Vikings 67-49. For the Cougars, this counts as revenge for the 67-42 victory the Vikings walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2024.

Valley lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Angelito Villa, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Luciano Mondragon, who posted five points.

Cibola's win ended a seven-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 7-2. As for Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-5.

Cibola and Volcano Vista will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday without much rest having both just played. Volcano Vista is on a three-game streak of home wins, Cibola a four-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. As for Valley, they and Hobbs will face off at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday without much rest having both just played.
