Baseball Recap: Marina Comes Up Short

If Marina was riding high fresh off their 7-0 takedown of Edison last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Vikings fell just short of the Chargers by a score of 2-1 on Wednesday. The Vikings were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Chargers earlier this season, when they won 7-0.

Marina got a good showing from JUSTIN RACKLEY, who didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. RACKLEY has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Marina saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was LUKE PRATALI, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. MATTHEW DEAN also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Marina's defeat dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Edison, with the win, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 10-10.

While Marina had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:15 p.m. on Friday.
