Basketball Recap: Young Americans Christian Comes Up Short

Young Americans Christian has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 67-61 heartbreaker at the hands of the Dominion Christian Knights. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Thursday (57), the Eagles still had to take the loss.

When it comes to explaining why Young Americans Christian lost on Thursday, don't look at Damian Crawford. Despite the final result, he posted 33 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals. Those 33 points gave Crawford a new career-high. Joshua Poole was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on nine points and 13 boards.

Young Americans Christian's loss dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Dominion Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.

Young Americans Christian and Creekside Christian Academy will face off at 6:30 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. As for Dominion Christian, they will face off against Furtah Prep at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Furtah Prep will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Dominion Christian surely won't give up without a fight.
