Football Recap: Frankfort Comes Up Short

Frankfort fell victim to Benton and their airtight defense on Saturday. They were dealt a 39-0 loss at the hands of the Rangers. The Redbirds' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Frankfort's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Benton, they pushed their record up to 7-0 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Frankfort and Benton should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. The Redbirds will challenge Anna-Jonesboro at 7:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank advantage (204 vs. 464). Meanwhile, Benton (ranked 73rd) will meet Pinckneyville (ranked 332nd) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
