Football Game Preview: Swainsboro Tigers vs. Savannah Christian Raiders + Official Tickets

The Swainsboro Tigers will venture away from home to square off against the Savannah Christian Raiders at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Swainsboro is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 29.1 points per game this season.

On Friday, Swainsboro strolled past Vidalia with points to spare, taking the game 35-20. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Indians recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Among those leading the charge was Marco Danford, who rushed for 17 yards and three scores, and also picked up 34 receiving yards. Those three rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Savannah Christian got the win against Vidalia last Friday by a conclusive 37-14. The Raiders pushed the score to 30-6 by the end of the third, a deficit the Indians cut but never quite recovered from.

Swainsboro better keep an eye on Blaise Thomas. He was instrumental in Savannah Christian's win, rushing for 43 yards and a pair of touchdowns, while also throwing for 196 yards and two TDs on only 14 passes. Another player making a difference was Wesley Dinkins, who rushed for 111 yards on only nine carries.

Swainsboro's record is now 8-1. As for Savannah Christian, their record now sits at 5-3.

Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Swainsboro has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 202.9 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Savannah Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 151.8 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.

Swainsboro took a serious blow against Savannah Christian when the teams last played back in October of 2024, falling 48-12. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Tigers were down 48-6.
