Soccer Recap: South Aiken Comes Up Short

After flying high against Aiken on Monday, South Aiken came back down to earth. The Thoroughbreds came up short against the North Augusta Yellow Jackets on Thursday, falling 5-1. Things were pretty much settled by the half as South Aiken were already down 3-0.

Their goal came courtesy of Savvas Chionakis, who's now up to 24 this season.

With the defeat, South Aiken broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 10-7. As for North Augusta, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-4-1.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. South Aiken will square off against rival Midland Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, North Augusta is set to challenge their familiar foe Aiken at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
