Softball Game Preview: Santa Barbara Dons vs. Nordhoff Rangers

The Santa Barbara Dons will head out on the road to challenge the Nordhoff Rangers at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with 13 consecutive losses for Santa Barbara and three for Nordhoff.

Foothill Tech hit Santa Barbara with a five-run fifth inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Dons lost 14-4 to the Dragons.

Newbury Park hit Nordhoff with a five-run second inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Rangers came up short against the Panthers, falling 11-1.

Santa Barbara's loss dropped their record down to 3-15. As for Nordhoff, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-7.

Santa Barbara was able to grind out a solid win over Nordhoff when the teams last played back in April of 2024, winning 7-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Dons since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
