Baseball Recap: Morristown-Hamblen West Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Powell, Morristown-Hamblen West was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the Bearden Bulldogs 7-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Trojans have posted since April 26, 2024.

Paxton Seal was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Charles Dewald was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in RBI. Bryson Shepard was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

Morristown-Hamblen West lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Morristown-Hamblen West's win bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Bearden, the loss snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 5-1 record.
