Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Council Grove). They breezed by the Central Heights Vikings at home to the tune of 58-0 on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Braves, who have now won five games by 21 points or more so far this season.

Cade Goodell had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 54 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries, and also picked up 48 receiving yards and a touchdown. Another rusher making a difference was Blaise French, who rushed for 57 yards and a touchdown on only six carries.

He was just one part of a punishing run game: Council Grove was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 300 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since the start of last season.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Council Grove's defense and their four sacks. Leading the way was Holden Ziegler with two.

Council Grove's win was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-1. As for Central Heights, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-3 record.
