Basketball Game Preview: Kearney Bearcats vs. Norfolk Panthers

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Bearcats face off against the Panthers at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Kearney is headed into Tuesday's game hungry for a win as their strong season has now been derailed by two straight defeats. They fell 43-34 to Bellevue West on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Norfolk played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by Millard South 63-26. The Panthers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 33-11.

Kearney will have to contain Bo Caskey as she made an impact in Norfolk's last game. She went 6 for 12 en route to 17 points.

Norfolk's loss dropped their record down to 6-13. As for Kearney, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-3.

Kearney took their victory against Norfolk in their previous matchup last Wednesday by a conclusive 44-21. The rematch might be a little tougher for Kearney since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
