Soccer Game Preview: Basic vs. Del Sol

The Basic Wolves will take on the Del Sol Dragons at 6:45 p.m. on Monday. Basic is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.8 goals per game this season.

Basic took a loss when they played away from home last Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. Their defense stepped up to hand Pinecrest Academy Sloan Canyon an 8-0 shutout. It was an even better day for Jasmyne Johnson as she scored three goals for her team.

Meanwhile, Del Sol was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They came up short against Green Valley, falling 9-0. While losing is never fun, Del Sol can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nevada soccer rankings (they are ranked 64th, while Green Valley are ranked fourth).

Del Sol's loss dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Basic, their win bumped their record up to 4-8-1.

Basic took their victory against Del Sol in their previous meeting back in August by a conclusive 10-1 score. In that matchup, Wolves amassed a halftime lead of 7-1, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Monday.
