Simmons and Shaw are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2022, but not for long. The Blue Devils will take on the Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Simmons is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last seven games.

Simmons had to skate by with only a one-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 34-point drubbing they dealt Leflore County on Tuesday. The Blue Devils really took it to the Tigers for the full four quarters, racking up a 48-14 victory. With the Blue Devils ahead 33-3 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Meanwhile, Shaw was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Saturday as they fell 43-37 to Warren Central.

Simmons' win bumped their record up to 15-3. As for Shaw, their loss dropped their record down to 2-9.

Simmons didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Shaw when the teams last played two weeks ago, but they still walked away with a 30-25 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Blue Devils since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
