Basketball Recap: Bonny Eagle Comes Up Short

Bonny Eagle lost against Sanford two weeks ago and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Bonny Eagle Scots were beaten by the Sanford Spartans 57-18. While losing is never fun, the Scots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maine basketball rankings (they are ranked 115th, while the Spartans are ranked 34th).

This is the second loss in a row for Bonny Eagle and nudges their season record down to 1-13. As for Sanford, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bonny Eagle has already played their next contest (against Deering), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Sanford and Greely will face off at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played.
