Volleyball Recap: Davie County Starts Season with Victory Against North Surry

Davie County gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Monday. They put the hurt on the North Surry Greyhounds with a sharp 3-0 victory. The War Eagles haven't had any issues with the Greyhounds recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Davie County's got stronger as the match went on, holding North Surry to fewer and fewer points set over set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 28-26, 25-23, 25-12.

KK Adame and Julie Anna Lawson certainly did their best on Monday to avoid the loss. Adame had 20 digs and two aces, while Lawson had ten digs and two aces. Lawson has been hot recently, having posted ten or more digs the last four times she's played.

Coming up, Davie County is packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will face off against Ashe County at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for North Surry, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 victory against West Davidson on the 12th.
