Football Recap: Patriot's Rushing Attack Does It Again

Even if it wasn't a dominant performance, the Patriot Warriors beat the Granite Hills Cougars 28-23 on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Warriors.

Nathan Villanueva was the offensive standout of the match as he rushed for 172 yards and one TD.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Patriot was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 356 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 152 rushing yards in ten consecutive games dating back to last season.

When it comes to explaining why Granite Hills lost, don't look at Aamir Sneed. Despite the final result, he threw for 154 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 78.9% of his passes, and also punched in one score on the ground.

Patriot's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Granite Hills, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Looking ahead, Patriot will face off against Silverado at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Granite Hills, they will take on Kaiser at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
