Baseball Game Preview: Garces Memorial Rams vs. Frontier Titans

Garces Memorial is 2-8 against Frontier since March of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Rams will face off against the Titans at 4:00 p.m. Garces Memorial knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Frontier likes a good challenge.

Garces Memorial's tournament run continued when they took on South East on Wednesday. The Rams came out on top against the Jaguars by a score of 13-8.

D'Angelo Flynn was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. He has become a key player for Garces Memorial: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 5-8 otherwise. Luke Tobias also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Frontier not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 7th (when they won 13-1). They never let Hanford get on the board and left with a 9-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Titans in their matchups with the Bullpups: they've now won five in a row.

Landon Nettles tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Landon McDonald was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with three runs and one triple. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Jaylen Tia, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

The victory got Garces Memorial back to even at 9-9. As for Frontier, they now have a winning record of 10-9.

Garces Memorial came up short against Frontier when the teams last played back in April of 2024, falling 8-3. Can the Rams avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
