Preview: Sweetwater Mustangs vs. Hirschi Huskies
Sweetwater is 0-3 against Hirschi since September of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Sweetwater Mustangs will head out on the road to face off against the Hirschi Huskies at 7:00 p.m. Sweetwater is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
Last Friday, Sweetwater took a serious blow against Graham, falling 58-14. While losing is never fun, Sweetwater can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 476th, while Graham is ranked 148th).
Despite the defeat, Sweetwater got a solid performance out of Jadyn Forbes, who picked up 188 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Caiden Ortiz, who threw for 383 yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Hirschi didn't have too much trouble with Snyder on the road on Friday as they won 26-7. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Hirschi.
Sweetwater has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-3 record this season. As for Hirschi, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Sweetwater took a serious blow against Hirschi when the teams last played back in October of 2022, falling 53-7. Can Sweetwater avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
