Basketball Recap: Lee County Takes a Loss

Lee County lost against Richmond back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Lee County Yellow Jackets took a blow against the Richmond Raiders, falling 64-22. While losing is never fun, the Yellow Jackets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 318th, while the Raiders are ranked 36th).

Lee County has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-8 record this season. As for Richmond, their win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lee County won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Hoke County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Richmond, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll challenge Pinecrest at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Richmond has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
