Basketball Game Preview: Payson Lions vs. Uintah Utes

The Payson Lions will face off against the Uintah Utes at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Payson is returning to their home court after beating Mountain View on theirs, despite the fact Mountain View has dominated at home this season. Payson enjoyed a cozy 57-40 win over Mountain View on Tuesday. Given the Lions' advantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked tenth, while the Bruins are ranked 47th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Uintah beat Timpanogos 48-42 on Tuesday.

Payson's victory was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 18-2. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.0 points per game. As for Uintah, their win bumped their record up to 10-11.

Everything came up roses for Payson against Uintah when the teams last played two weeks ago, as the team secured a 55-23 victory. Does Payson have another victory up their sleeve, or will Uintah turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
