Baseball Game Preview: Brookhaven Panthers vs. Clinton Arrows

Brookhaven hasn't had much luck against Clinton recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Panthers will take on the Arrows at 6:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Clinton will be up against a hot Brookhaven squad: the team just extended their winning streak to four. The Panthers' pitchers stepped up to hand Natchez a 13-0 shutout on Friday.

Meanwhile, Clinton made easy work of Newton County on Tuesday and carried off a 13-0 win. The Arrows might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten contests by six runs or more this season.

Parker Burrow looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 13 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ethan Dodson, who scored three runs while going 3-for-3. Stone Crain was another key player, going 3-for-4 with four RBI.

Clinton kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.

The victory got Brookhaven back to even at 11-11. As for Clinton, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 18-7.

Brookhaven suffered a grim 12-4 defeat to Clinton in their previous matchup back in March. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
