East Nashville Magnet saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chauncey Anthony, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. Anthony is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played.
Meanwhile, Whites Creek had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They blew past the Panthers 15-7. The Cobras might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by seven runs or more this season.
Johnathan Scales was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over four innings while giving up three earned runs off only one hit. Scales was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one triple and two RBI. That triple was his first of the season.
In other batting news, Xavier Jackson was incredible, going 1-for-2 with three stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ivorie Lee, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Whites Creek was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. They are 4-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
East Nashville Magnet's loss dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Whites Creek, their win bumped their record up to 5-3.
Wednesday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. East Nashville Magnet has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .463. However, it's not like Whites Creek struggles in that department as they've averaged .621. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
