Preview: Rockmart Yellowjackets vs. Haralson County Rebels
Rockmart is 1-9 against Haralson County since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Rockmart Yellowjackets will be home for the holidays to greet the Haralson County Rebels at 6:00 p.m. Hopefully Rockmart is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Haralson County in Georgia (Rockmart is ranked 144th, while Haralson County is ranked 293rd).
Even though Chattooga scored an imposing 58 points on Saturday, Rockmart still came out on top. Rockmart walked away with a 68-58 victory over Chattooga. The victory was just what Rockmart needed coming off of a 65-35 loss in their prior match.
It was another big night for Analee Morris, who scored 26 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. That makes it seven consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Rockmart's points. Another player making a difference was Sky Myers, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, it was a hard-fought contest, but Haralson County had to settle for a 40-37 loss against Gordon Central on Friday. Haralson County has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Rockmart's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Haralson County, their loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 3-4.
Rockmart skirted past Haralson County 40-38 in their previous matchup back in January. Will Rockmart repeat their success, or does Haralson County have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
