Flag Football Game Preview: Oxnard Yellowjackets vs. Ventura Cougars + How To Watch

The Oxnard Yellowjackets will challenge the Ventura Cougars at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Oxnard will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each game than the last.

On Thursday, Oxnard took their matchup with ease, bagging a 41-6 victory over Santa Barbara. The Yellowjackets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 15 contests by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Ventura was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Saturday as they fell 18-14 to Marshall. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Cougars came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' California flag football rankings (they are ranked 28th, while the Barristers are ranked 111th).

Oxnard has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 8.8 points on average over those games. As for Ventura, their loss dropped their record down to 16-6.

Oxnard ended up a good deal behind Ventura in their previous matchup back in September, losing 32-13. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Cougars' Ava Ortman, who rushed for 101 yards and a pair of TDs on only six carries, and also threw for 225 yards and three touchdowns.
