Softball Recap: Elgin Comes Up Short

Elgin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 19-3 to the ITW David Speer Academy Pride.

Elgin saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ainesly Downing, who went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Elgin's loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for ITW David Speer Academy, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 13-6 record.

Looking ahead, Elgin will look to defend their home field on Monday against West Aurora at 4:30 p.m. As for ITW David Speer Academy, they will square off against Leyden at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
