Soccer Game Preview: Newton-Conover vs. Shelby

The Newton-Conover Red Devils will challenge the Shelby Golden Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Newton-Conover sitting on nine straight victories and Shelby on 24.

Newton-Conover is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They came out on top against Forbush by a score of 3-1.

Newton-Conover hit the Falcons with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Stella Phillips, Naia Lawing, and Vanesa Villa.

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last contest, Shelby made sure to put some goals up on the board against Madison on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 6-0 margin over the Patriots. The result was nothing new for Shelby, who have now won 11 games by three goals or more so far this season.

Shelby's win was their 14th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 24-0. Those home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 68 goals over those 14 matchups. As for Newton-Conover, their win bumped their record up to 19-5-3.
