Football Recap: Crescenta Valley Takes a Loss

If Crescenta Valley was feeling good fresh off their 49-26 takedown of Hoover last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Falcons took a blow against the Muir Mustangs on Friday, falling 49-0. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Falcons were not able to get on the board.

Brody Cole threw for 30 yards on four of ten attempts. Daniel Lopez was his top target, picking up 30 receiving yards.

Trey Gamble was his usual excellent self, throwing for 300 yards and six TDs while completing 77.3% of his passes for Muir. Gamble has been hot recently, having posted four or more passing touchdowns the last three times he's played. Noah Bozeman did his part for the team as well, scoring a TD off of 88 receiving yards.

Crescenta Valley has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season. As for Muir, they pushed their record up to 5-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Crescenta Valley will host Glendale at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Falcons will be up against the Nitros' rather soft defense (which has allowed 35.33 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Muir, they will face off against Arcadia at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Mustangs will be up against the Apaches' rather soft defense (which has allowed 38.17 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
