It was a good run, but Church Point unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell 8-4 to the Pine Prairie Panthers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bears of the 11-4 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Luke Baudoin was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played.

Church Point's loss dropped their record down to 14-7. As for Pine Prairie, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Church Point will host St. Martinville at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Pine Prairie, they will challenge Avoyelles Charter at 11:00 p.m. on Saturday.
