Volleyball Recap: Western Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Western took on West Broward on Thursday. The Wildcats came up short against the Bobcats, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Wildcats have suffered against the Bobcats since November 30, 2020.

While Western ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 18 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-20, 25-18.

Paige Hill paced Western's offense, picking up ten kills. Hill got some help from Katherine Restrepo and her 11 assists. Finally, Sanai Mitchell kept Western's defense grounded, leading the team with five blocks.

Western's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for West Broward, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Looking ahead, Western will challenge Fort Lauderdale at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for West Broward, they will square off against Chaminade-Madonna at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
