Baseball Recap: Illinois Valley Central Comes Up Short

Illinois Valley Central and Rockridge squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Illinois Valley Central had to settle for second. They lost 13-3 to the Rockets.

Sam Griggs made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Gabe Perez, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Illinois Valley Central's defeat dropped their record down to 15-17. As for Rockridge, they are on a roll lately: they've won 18 of their last 20 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 29-7 record this season.
