Menasha is 1-7 against Winneconne since September of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. Menasha is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.
Menasha took a three-set loss the last time they faced off against Shawano Community, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Bluejays won by a set and slipped past the Hawks 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bluejays have posted since September 27th.
It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Menasha got the one that really mattered. The final score came out to 25-23, 21-25, 25-12, 21-25, 15-13.
Meanwhile, Winneconne got the win against Green Bay West on Tuesday by a conclusive 3-0.
Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Winneconne took every set by at least 17 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-4, 25-6, 25-8.
Winneconne's win came from a few key players Menasha will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Bailey Church, who had four aces and three digs. That's the most aces she has posted since back in August of 2024. Hallah Josephson was another key player, getting seven digs and seven assists.
Winneconne was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 24 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.
Menasha's record now sits at 17-11. As for Winneconne, their record is now 19-7.
Menasha came out on top in a nail-biter against Winneconne in their previous matchup two weeks ago, sneaking past 2-1. Will the Bluejays repeat their success, or do the Wolves have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
